Dr Paul Repton
My family have been farming in the central wheat-belt town of Tammin for as long as I can remember. I was brought up with way too many sheep, a couple of jersey house cows, chooks, pigs, dogs and a cat called Frisky. I have always had an interest in animals including as a kid collecting bones & skeletons. Times were tough on the farm & the only career option that seemed logical at the time was to go to Northam High School and have a go at entering the Veterinary course at Murdoch University. Getting in was not easy, but once in – I loved it.
The only job I applied for after graduation was a job working in Zimbabwe. At the time the country was short of Veterinarians and I saw it as a wonderful opportunity to see Africa and its wildlife up close. For the next 6 years I worked with Cattle, wildlife and travelled up to places like Victoria Falls & Hwange mixing my passion for photography with running small animal clinics, at the same time keeping clear of Rabies and other horrible diseases, which there were lots of!
Back to Australia I came where I have now spent nearly 25 years working in the South West of our state. For the past 18 years I have owned GEOvet, a business that I am very proud to be involved with. My main passion as the owner is centered on offering an exceptional client experience. I have a fantastic team of Veterinarians, Nurses and Receptionists who help me to provide the best service possible.
My main focus is dealing with all aspects of Large Animal practice. Over the years I have gained advanced skills in Equine reproduction and dentistry and have had my arm in well over a million cattle bottoms!!!
Outside of being with my clients and their animals I can be seen in Lycra burning rubber on the roads around Busselton, or at home with the horses, 4 dogs, the chooks, cat ……and spending time with the people I care about.
